PARAB Board Meeting Wednesday August 11, 2021 ─ Attendees Zoom video Sarah Carr/ Patti Dukes/ Ryan Ford/ Malica Evans Katy Keller, Parks Planner; Michael Fiocco, Town of Pittsboro Board Member, Linda Sheppard Mueller, Resident of Chatham Park Agenda New Business 1. Questions/Comments Notes ● Call to order: 7:02pm ● Sarah C. moved to approve July PARAB minutes, Ryan second ● Knight Farm Community Park update: Katy discussed having Knight Family participate in dedication; Sarah indicated there are 2 family members in town and will reach out to Mike Knight about the ceremony and brief PARAB on his feedback. Katy indicated the goal was to be COVID-safe, and got permission to use the County Parks and Rec outdoor movie screen ● Lewis Freeman Park: Katy shared pics of design as elements to include so budget funds can be allocated. Signage and trash can were unanimous options the Board recommended. Malica recommended parking for park be negotiated to use on the  2 adjacent County lot, and would like all to visit the site for discussion about the scale of the property and how the elements of the plan would work in reality. Sarah C. endorsed signage as a way to encourage use of the property as a park. Michael indicated the Main Street program has a Design Committee meeting and could meet up with PARAB for park review on Aug 25 at 6pm. Katy will confirm based on schedule limitations. ● Park Assignments: Katy had reviewed information on file for SWOT analysis but preferred to go over details and Sept board meeting due to time limitations ● Park Updates: Sarah C. reminded all that she had given her resignation in July and this was her last meeting. She intends to provide any input requested by Parks Planner and Board should she be needed as a citizen advocate. ● Director’s Report: Katy is reviewing all parks for repairs/liabilities and uploaded the findings to the Sharepoint document. She asked Board members to provide images of ‘engaging ideas’ for parks to the Sharepoint site and thanked Malica for her contributions. The Facebook account access has not been solved, and Bett Foley has not responded to her request for access. Michael will reach out to Bett for her assistance. ● Meeting adjourned: 8:03pm, Patti motioned to adjourn, Sarah C. second
