Next Meeting: April 12, 2023 1  Notes ● Call to order: 6:05pm ● Josh motioned for approval of February 2023 minutes; Bridget and Malica seconded. Approved minutes Budget Updates: Katy reported that: ● McClenahan tennis courts too far gone for redo, must be resurfaced ● She’d like to hire a grounds person for park maintenance ● Redo of Rock Ridge playground could cost around $500,000 ● Contributing to playground fun ● Kiwanis fencing ● Looking at soccer goals and netting for Knight Farm Park all purpose field Department Updates: ● Katy shared the Town of Pittsboro will take over maintenance of Knight Farm Park on 5/29/23 Park Updates: ● Lewis Freeman Park Update and Review: Katy advised it will be 4 months until the benches and trash cans are shipped for the park. ○ Cost of redesign of park will be met with the 2023 budget ○ Items shown were optional climbing equipment, sidewalk with ADA parking spot, shade structure near creek ○ Josh motioned to approve new design; Malica second: Approved ○ Grimm Hobbs indicated that there was not a fence showing on this new plan and recommended adding to plan, prefers split rail; indicated the County Historical Society has a large interest in this park and will ask if PARAB can attend an upcoming meeting to address this park ○ Patti motioned to approve modified design with fence, Bridget second: Approved ● Earth Fest: Katy introduced Maura, who will be coordinating this event. Maura presented that the festival will be at Town Lake Park on Sat. April 22 from 10-11am. There will be no registration and supplies will be limited. There will be kids activities, and Josh will investigate if Anglina can cater at the event. Patti offered to bring eggshells to use in the compost race. ● Meeting adjourned: 7:29pm, Josh motioned to adjourn, Sara second 2
