MINUTES CITY OF PLACERVILLE CANNABIS COMMUNITY BENEFIT COMMITTEE January 21, 2025 – 3:30PM TOWN HALL, 549 MAIN STREET, PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA 1. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chair Aubrey at 3:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Members Present: Chair Aubrey, Member Hawthorne, Silvester, City Manager Morris, Chief Wren and CSD Director Nishihara Members Absent: Vice-Chair Chiusano Staff Present: 3. ADOPTION OF AGENDA. Chief Wren moved to adopt the agenda and seconded by Member Hawthorne. Motion carried 6-0. 4. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF THE MEETING September 3, 2024. Member Silvester moved to adopt the minutes and seconded by Member Nishihara. Motion carried 6-0. 5. ITEMS OF INTEREST TO THE PUBLIC: No comments received. 6. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: A. Update on Community Benefit Grants City Manager Morris gave an update on grant recipients and projects completed. Review on Available Funding. City Manager Morris provided an update on funds received. B. Report on progress on approved projects CSD Director Nishihara and City Manager Morris reported on the status of projects. C. Discussion of potential projects for the coming year. The committee reviewed potential projects as submitted by Member Morris and Member Nishihara. The committee expressed interest in the Downtown Bollard Project, El Dorado Trail “Adopt A Trail Program” Trailer and Special Events. In addition projects submitted by Member Nishihara were prioritized as Trail Blower, Pool Propane Tanks, Park Drinking Fountains, Pool Snack Bar, and Gold Bug Turn- Around/Guard Rail. For the Bollard Project staff/committee members were asked to firm up costs if possible by the next meeting. It was also asked if the bollards are funded and if we are able to get sponsors, can the sponsor revenue go back into the fund. Member Morris stated he believes it could. The committee agreed to review the projects further and make recommendations at the next meeting. 8. STAFF AND COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS: It was recommended that for the next round of grant applications we add the following to the application: 1. How the Grant benefits the City of Placerville. 2. If awarded, what recognition will be given to the Cannabis Community Benefit Fund. 9. NEXT MEETING: Following discussion, it was recommended that the next meeting of the Cannabis Community Benefit Committee will be on February 18, 2025 at 3:00. The meeting will be held at Scout Hall with a tour of the hall, Benham Park and the Pool. 11. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned by unanimous consent at 5:10.
