CITY OF PLACERVILLE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES Special City Council Meeting Tuesday, May 28, 2019 Town Hall 549 Main Street, Placerville, CA 95667 Council Chambers 4:30 P.M. Open Session 4:30 P.M. OPEN SESSION 1. CALL TO ORDER The Mayor called the meeting to order at 4:31 P.M. and The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Acuna, Borelli, Saragosa, Taylor, Thomas 2. ANNOUNCEMENTS TO THE PUBLIC No announcements to the public were made. 4. ADOPTION OF AGENDA The City Manager stated two requests had been received asking the City Council to consider extending the Historic City Hall re-use presentations to thirty minutes rather than fifteen minutes. The City Council discussed whether the item should be added to the agenda. It was then moved by Councilmember Borelli and seconded by Councilmember Thomas that the City Council keep the presentations to fifteen minutes and adopt the agenda as presented. The motion was passed by the following vote: AYES: Acuna, Borelli, Saragosa, Taylor, Thomas NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None 5. PUBLIC COMMENT – BRIEF – NON-AGENDA ITEMS ________________________________________________________________________ Minutes of the Special Meeting of the City Council of May 28, 2019 Page 1 Visit us on “The Web” at www.cityofplacerville.org 5.1 Oral Communication Michael Drobesh addressed the City Council regarding red- zone curb painting in front of Outbreak Brewing Co. on Main Street and also commented on the public’s right to speak on agendized items under The Brown Act. 5.2 Written Communication The City Manager stated several items of written communication had been received in relation to Item 6.1 on the agenda of the Regular Meeting of the City Council taking place later this evening at 6:00 P.M. 6. DISCUSSION/INFORMATION ITEMS: 6.1 Presentations for the Reuse of Historic City Hall The Mayor reiterated the parties will each be given fifteen minutes to make their presentations and the public will be given a chance to comment on the presentations at the regular meeting to follow. The City Attorney then stated that anyone who could not attend the regular City Council meeting scheduled for 6:00 P.M. may comment after the presentations at this meeting. At this time, both parties (The Wopumnes Nisenan-Mewuk of El Dorado County California Heritage Preservation Society and Arts and Culture El Dorado) were each allowed to make fifteen-minute timed presentations to the City Council. Public comment was received from Francesca Duchamp, Barbara Raines, Kris Payne, Heidi Meyerhoffer, Larry Johnson, Michael Drobesh and Ruth Michaelson. This item was for informational purposes only. No action was taken. This item is included on the City Council Regular Agenda and action and further public comment will be taken at that time. 7. ADJOURNMENT @ 5:28 P.M.
