Recreation and Parks Commission Meeting

CITY OF PLACERVILLE RECREATION & PARKS COMMISSION July 20, 2016 MINUTES PRESENT: Recreation & Parks Commission: Jerry Barton, Andrew Mathews, Jackie Neau, Peter Nolan, and Richard Zito. Recreation & Parks Staff: Steve Youel and Matt Lishman. ABSENT: None GUESTS: ADOPTION OF AGENDA: Mr. Nolan made the motion to approve the agenda. Mr. Zito seconded the motion. Motion approved unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Mathews made the motion to approve the minutes of May 18, 2016. Mr. Nolan seconded the motion. Motion approved unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT: None STATUS REPORTS: Youth Assistance Fund: Mr. Lishman reported that unofficially there were 24 requests for funding in the amount of $1,257.50. We received $58.00 in donations and the projected fund balance is $4,968.57. We should have an official amount at the next meeting since our Administrative Secretary position will be filled. Lions Park Scoreboard Replacement Project: Mr. Lishman reported that the scoreboards are up and are working fantastic. Parks and Recreation Master Plan: Mr. Youel reported that within the new City’s Annual Capital Improvement Budget there is a line item to update the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan and Park Development Fee Study. The Commission may eventually be asked to make a recommendation to the City Council on both the Master Plan and to the establishment of Development Fees. Some commissioners may be asked to sit on the interview panel to pick a landscape consultant for the project. ACTION ITEMS: Gold Bug Mine Donation Request: Mr. Lishman reported New Beginnings is requesting a “Family 4 Pack” for free admission to Gold Bug Mine and Gem Panning. The “Family 4 Pack” will be given away at a fund raising event to be held on September 3, 2016. Mr. Barton made a motion to donate a “Family 4 Pack” for free admission to Gold Bug Mine and Gem Panning. Mr. Zito seconded the motion. Motion approved unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:20 pm until August 17, 2016.
