CITY OF POCATELLO, IDAHO CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING JULY 26, 2021 A Special Meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Brian Blad at 11:01 a.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council members in attendance were Roger Bray, Rick Cheatum, Linda Leeuwrik, Claudia Ortega and Chris Stevens. Council member Heidi Adamson was excused. In addition to the Mayor and Council members, the following staff members were in attendance: Jared Johnson, City Attorney; Heather Buchanan, Human Resources Director; Jim Krueger, Chief Financial Officer; and Konni Kendell, City Clerk. Mrs. Ortega stated she feels the topic at hand is not appropriate for an Executive Session and asked for clarification from the City Attorney. Jared Johnson, City Attorney, stated that due to the nature of the topic, it was appropriate to hold a Council discussion in an Executive Session, in accordance with Idaho Code, as noticed. A motion was made by Mr. Cheatum, seconded by Mr. Bray, to convene into Executive Session in accordance with Idaho Code Section 74-206(1)(b) to consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent or public school student. Upon roll call, those voting in favor were Cheatum, Bray, Leeuwrik, Ortega and Stevens. Ms. Kendell was excused from the meeting at 11:30 a.m. Council discussed topics within the parameters of the above statute. Mayor Blad adjourned the Executive Session at 11:52 a.m. APPROVED: BRIAN C.
