City Council

CITY OF POCATELLO, IDAHO CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING FEBRUARY 10, 2022 A Special Meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Brian Blad at 12:24 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Council members in attendance were Roger Bray, Rick Cheatum, Linda Leeuwrik Josh Mansfield, Claudia Ortega and Chris Stevens. A motion was made by Mr. Cheatum, seconded by Mr. Mansfield, to convene into Executive Session in accordance with Idaho Code 74-206(1)(a) To consider hiring a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent wherein the respective qualities of individuals are to be evaluated in order to fill a particular vacancy or need; Idaho Code 74-206(1)(e) To consider preliminary negotiations involving matters of trade or commerce in which the governing body is in competition with governing bodies in other states or nations; and Idaho Code 74-206(1)(j) To consider labor contract matters authorized under section 74-206A (1)(a) and (b), Idaho Code. Upon roll call, those voting in favor were Cheatum, Mansfield, Bray, Leeuwrik, Ortega and Stevens. In addition to the Mayor and Council members, the following staff members were in attendance: Jared Johnson, City Attorney; Heather Buchanan, Human Resources Director; and Konni Kendell, City Clerk. Ms. Buchanan was excused from the meeting at 1:27 p.m. Alan Evans, Airport Manager and Kristy Heinz, Management Assistant, joined the meeting at 1:31 p.m. Council members discussed topics within the parameters of the above statutes.
