January 9 2023 Point Beach Arts Committee Meeting Minutes January 9, 2023 The meeting was held at the Municipal Building Council Meeting Room, 416 New Jersey Ave., PPB and called to order by Chairperson Lauren Goldfarb Edwards at 7:15 pm. Attendees: The following members and volunteers were in attendance: Lauren Goldfarb Edwards, Kristi Monticello, Sheila Soyster, Lauren Kurtz, Larry Schwartz, Arlene Testa Kriti Monticello, Vice Chair, recorded the minutes of the meeting. The Agenda attached as Exhibit A was presented as the format for the meeting. 1. Chairperson’s Report: Looking for a Treasurer! We’ve been working with the town on our financing and all is going well. We will use Municipay for all events involving payments. 2. Vice Chairperson’s Report: Minutes from the 11/14/2022 meeting were voted on via email and approved as read 3. Treasurer’s Report: no report 4. Secretary’s Report: no report  5. Past Events and Recap: 1. Spotlight Artists at Library and Town Hall – Sheila Evans photography is on exhibit January through March. The art of Heather Brown is planned for April through June. The town has a new rail and wire hanging system in place to avoid damage to the walls. 6. Upcoming 2023 events: 7. Virtual Juried Art Show – Tentative start to accept submissions is 2/1/2023; pectus was reviewed. Since the website was down, advertising will begin ASAP. Submissions will go to Sheila Soyster and Melissa Hood for review. Judges will vote on winners. We will have an online exhibit allowing a “people’s choice” contest as well. 8. PartY By The Sea – May 18, 2023; Lobster Shanty. Tracy Jackson to Chair. Planning meeting to be scheduled. 9. Murals – Murals will be on hold until Spring. Tentative Mosaic Mural being considered. 10. Artist’s registry – Judy discussed ideas with Melissa Hood and Lauren Kurtz on a format. Fees and registration process being worked on. Looking at Belmar Arts as a guideline. 11. Art Walk – Scheduled for 4/29/2023. Several local shops are onboard to participate. Need to create advertising for artists. 7. New Business: 8. Insurance for events: We are looking at new avenues to have insurance for town Art events rather than going through the chamber. 9.
