At this time, the general public is invited to address the Community Life Commission concerning any items that are not listed on the agenda, which are not public hearings, or other items under the jurisdiction of the Community Life Commission. Comments from the public of any non-agenda items will be limited to five (5) minutes in accordance with Commission bylaws. 2. Any member of the public wishing to speak on any item that is listed on the agenda is requested to adhere to the following protocol procedures/guidelines: a. Prior to the meeting, or during the meeting prior to an agenda item being discussed, any person wishing to address the Community Life Commission shall complete a speaker’s card and submit it to the Staff Liaison. b. After being recognized, the person shall state his /her name and address for the record, and if speaking for an organization or other group, identify the organization or group represented. Whenever, any group of persons wishes to address the Community Life Commission on the same subject matter, the Chair may, at his /her own discretion, request that the group choose a spokesperson to address the Commission. c. All remarks should be addressed to the Community Life Commission as a whole, and not to individual Commissioners. Questions, if any, should be directed to the presiding Chair who will determine whether, or in what manner, an answer will be provided. d. Every person addressing the Community Life Commission will be limited to five (5) minutes or such reasonable time as is granted by the majority of the Community Life Commission COMMISSIONER COMMUNICATION Reports on conferences, seminars, regional meetings attended by Chair and Commissioners and or announcement of upcoming events. Pomona Beautification-Anti Litter Campaign- Commissioner Jimenez 2. Things that affect quality of life in City of Pomona- Commissioner Jimenez 3. Neighborhood Watch Committee- Commissioner Houston 4. Outline of goals, Strategy and measurement plan- Commissioner Hutchinson NEW BUSINESS Mayor Tim Sandoval proposal to Community Life Commission Community Life Commission help develop a training program along with City Council for Pomona Beautiful Movement. The training can be on a monthly or quarterly basis. The goal in mind is to have every street and every neighborhood adopted by a residence and in essence take ownership to every street in the city. There are three things that residents are looking for: 1. Safe City of Pomona 2. Clean City of Pomona 3. Good Schools The development of the training program consists of having everyone going into this movement trained on how to handle different situations such as hazardous debris or bulk items. The goal also consists of having half of the city owned and adopted by residents and citizens by 2020. The movement is also about making the social connection with community members and residents, keeping residents informed with updates and community events via email address.
