PUBLIC COMMENT: Public Comment – The public is invited to address the Cultural Arts Commission concerning only those items listed on the agenda pursuant to Government Code §54954.3 during the consideration of such item. Together the Cultural Arts Commissioners, City staff, and public honor Pomona’s important City meeting values: To speak and to listen to everyone with respect and courtesy; To honor fairness and our cherished democratic process; To affirm Pomona’s dedication to lead as a Compassionate City. In order to address the Cultural Arts Commission, each individual must fill out a speaker card. Speaker cards must be completed and turned in to the Development Services Director at this time. Only those speaker cards turned in to the Development Services Director will be allowed to address the Cultural Arts Commission. No late cards will be accepted. Each person should state their name and will be allowed to speak once for three minutes. All speakers and persons in the audience must adhere to the Cultural Arts Commission Rules of Procedure and Decorum. E. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: F. PUBLIC HEARING: 1. Final Design Plan - Pomona Public Library Mural Project Address: 625 S Garey Avenue Project Artist: Athena Hahn Project Planner: Alina Barron, Assistant Planner Council District: CC District No. 2 Final Design Plan to allow the installation of a mural located within the Children’s Room of the Pomona Public Library. The subject site is located in the Open Space zone located at 625 S Garey Avenue (APN: 8341 - 012 - 932). Pursuant to the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA Public Resources Code, Section 21084 et. seq.), this project meets the requirements for a Categorical Exemption in compliance with Article 19, Section 15301, (Class 1 - Existing Facilities). Recommendation: Staff recommends the Cultural Arts Commission approve a Final Design Plan for the City of Pomona Page 2 Printed on 8/22/2019 Cultural Arts Commission Special Meeting Agenda August 26, 2019 installation of a mural located within the Children’s Room of the Pomona Public Library in the amount of $19,712.22 and further recommends that the city execute an agreement with the artist, Athena Hahn.
