PUBLIC COMMENT: 1. At this time, the general public is invited to address the Cultural Arts Commission concerning any items that are not listed on the agenda, which are not public hearings, or other items under the jurisdiction of the Cultural Arts Commission. Comments from the public of any nonagenda items will be limited to three (3) minutes in accordance with City policy. 2. Any applicant or member of the public wishing to speak on any item that is listed on the agenda is requested to adhere to the following protocol procedures/guidelines: a) When called upon, the person shall state his /her name and address for the record, and, if speaking for an organization or other group, identify the organization or group represented. Whenever any group of persons wishes to address the Cultural Arts Commission on the same subject matter, the Chairperson may, at his /her discretion, request that the group choose a spokesperson to address the Commission. b) All remarks should be addressed to the Cultural Arts Commission as a whole, and not to individual Commissioners. Questions, if any, should be directed to the presiding Chairperson who will determine whether, or in what manner an answer will be provided. 3. Together the Cultural Arts Commission members, City Staff and public honor Pomona's important City meeting values: a) To speak and to listen to everyone with respect and courtesy; to honor fairness and our cherished democratic process. b)To affirm Pomona's dedication to lead as a Compassionate City. CONSENT CALENDAR: All items listed on the Consent Calendar may be enacted by a single motion without separate discussion. If a discussion or a separate vote on any item is desired by a Cultural Arts Commission, that item may be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered separately. All remaining items not removed from the Consent Calendar by a Committee Member shall be voted on prior to discussion of the item (s) requested to be pulled. 1. Approval of Draft Cultural Arts Commission Action Minutes meeting of February 27, 2023. Attachments: Draft CAC Action Minutes 2-27-2023 G. PUBLIC HEARING: H. DISCUSSION ITEMS: City of Pomona Page 2 Printed on 4/18/2023 Cultural Arts Commission Regular Meeting Agenda April 24, 2023 1. Appointment of Advisory Committee Members. Staff is seeking Commission recommendation and approval to fill two vacancies within the Cultural Arts Commission’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee. One role must be filled by a sitting Cultural Arts Commissioner, and one role must be filled by a qualified member of the community. Attachments: Application No. 1: Martin Perez Application No. 2: Rachel Boelle 2. Modification Request to Approved Artist Scope. Staff is recommending a modification to Applicant 44.1 from the Call for Visual Art (Crystal Rodriguez). The applicant was approved on March 20, 2023 for $1,954.00 for 3 BBQ pits at Ralph Welch Park. As Staff has confirmed that there are only 2 available BBQ pits, the revised amount recommended is $1,326.00. Attachments: Revised Budget for Applicant 44.1 3. Identification Plaque Standards for Call for Visual Art. Staff will facilitate a discussion on the potential to modify existing identification plaque standards to allow more flexibility in how muralists achieve identification without a physical installed plaque, such as illustrating it onto the mural itself.
