City of Portage Common Council Special Meeting Minutes December 19, 2024 The Common Council of the City of Portage met on Tuesday, December 19, 2024, at 6:30 P.M. at City Hall, 6070 Central Ave., Portage, Indiana. Mayor Bonta called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance at 6:30 P.M. Members present were Councilpersons Ferdinand Alvarez, Gina Giese-Hurst, Bob Parnell, Victoria Vasquez, Penny Ambler, Collin Czilli and Mayor Austin Bonta. Also, present was Clerk-Treasurer Elizabeth Modesto and Attorney Ed Graham. Public Hearing Mayor Bonta opened the public hearing for ordinance #24-38 Additional Appropriations for End of Year. Mayor Bonta asked three times if anyone wanted to speak on this and not hearing anyone, Mayor Bonta closed public hearing. Councilperson Giese-Hurst read Ordinance #24-38 Additional Appropriations for the 2024 end of year in its entirety as a second reading. Councilperson Alvarez made a motion to approve; Councilperson Giese-Hurst seconded the motion. 5 yes-1 nays Mayor Bonta opened the public hearing on resolution #24-05 City of Portage ARPA Plan. Mayor Bonta asked three times if anyone wanted to speak on the matter and not hearing anyone, Mayor Bonta closed the public hearing. Councilperson Alvarez made a motion to approve; Councilperson Vasquez seconded the motion. 6 yes-0 nays Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Council, Mayor Bonta entertained a motion to adjourn. Councilperson Czilli made a motion to adjourn; Councilperson Vasquez seconded the motion. Motion carried. 6 yes-0 nays. Mayor Bonta adjourned the meeting at 6:36 P.M.
