In accordance with order of the Office of the Governor issued March 16, 2020, the City Council of the City of
Prairie View. Texas will conduct a telephonic meeting in order to advance the public health goal of limiting
face-to-face meetings (also called “social distancing”) to slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Crime Control and Prevention Board will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021, starting at 4:00 p.m.
The public may participate in this meeting by dialing in to the following number 1-571-317-3116_

Anyone wishing to offer public comments or speak during a public hearing may do so by notifying the
City Staff at least two hours prior to the meeting at citysecretary@prairieviewtexas.gov.
A recording of the telephonic meeting will be made and will be available to the public in accordance with
the Open Meetings Act upon written request.

Call to Order
Roll Call/ certification of Quorum
Public Comments:
Citizens who have signed up with City staff, at citysecretary@prairieviewtexas.gov at least 2 hours
before the meeting will be recognized. Comments will be limited to three (3) minutes. Crime Control
and Prevention Board will listen to the comments but cannot discuss or respond to the comments
during the meeting. The matter may be referred to a department head, Mayor or board member
may direct that the matter be placed on the next Crime Control and Prevention Board Meeting
Agenda.
Business
1. Discuss, consider, and take action on a Resolution of the Board of Directors on the Crime Control &
Prevention District authorizing certain signatory on its bank account.

2. Discuss, consider, and take action on approval of the Crime Control & Prevention District Budget for
2021-2022 and authorizing recommendation of same to City Council.
3. Discuss, consider, and take action to approve a Resolution ratifying a recommendation to Prairie
View City Council calling for a Special Election Referendum to be held on November 2, 2021, to
provide for the Continuation of the Crime Control & Prevention District and its one-fourth cent
(.002500%) Sales Tax for a period of 5 years.

governing body of the City of Prairie View is a true and correct copy of said Notice and said Notice was posted on
the City Hall front door, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public at all times; said Notice was
posted on Monday, August 16, 2021 by 4:00 pm, and remained so posted continuously for at least 72 hours
preceding the scheduled time for said meeting. The Notice and Agenda was also posted on the City’s website at

Matters), 551.076 (Deliberations about security Devices), and 551.086 (Economic Development).
Attendance by Other Elected or Appointed Officials: It is anticipated that members of other governmental bodies,
and/or city boards, commissions and/or committees may attend the meeting in numbers that may constitute a quorum
of the body, board, commission and/or committee. The members of the boards, commissions and/or committees may
be permitted to participate in discussion on the same items listed on the agenda, which occur at the meeting, but no
action will be taken by such in attendance unless item and action is specifically provided for on an agenda for that
body, board, commission or committee subject to the Texas Open Meetings Act.
