CITY OF PRESCOTT, WISCONSIN NOVEMBER 28, 2017 PARKS AND PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the Parks & Public Property Committee was held Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Municipal Building, 800 Borner St. Prescott, WI 54021. Call to order/Roll Call: Alderperson John Hoschette called to order at 4:00 p.m. Members present were Galen Seipel. Bill Dravis was absent. Public Works Director Hank Zwart and City Administrator Jayne Brand represented staff. Seipel/Hoschette motion to approve the minutes for September 11, 2017 passed without a negative voice vote. The committee discussed doing the skating rink different this year. City staff has found a company who sells skating rinks which have a plastic lining which will hold the water rather than trying to make ice directly on the ground. It was discussed since the area needs to be flat we would look at placing the rink at St. Croix Bluffs Park. The rink would be for skating and not for hockey. It is the hoped the neighborhood will help to maintain this rink with snow removal. Seipel/Hoschette motion to purchase a 40’ X 80’ skating rink in the amount of $5,900 for placement in St. Croix Bluffs Park passed without a negative voice vote. The committee discussed outdoor fitness equipment for St. Croix Bluffs Park. The fitness equipment would be placed along the existing walking path already in the park. The committee is looking at a basic package which would include 6 pieces of equipment and information signs. The committee would like to set up a meeting with the company to look more at the equipment. Chairman Jack Hoschette shared pictures of the riverfront improvements which have been completed in Hastings. The committee also reviewed plans which were completed by a subcommittee for the riverfront improvements. The Parks Committee would like to work with the Public Works Committee on establishing a plan and then try to seek grants and work on the riverfront in phases. Seipel/Hoschette motion to adjourn passed without a negative voice vote. Respectfully Submitted, Jayne M. Brand City Administrator
