CITY OF PRESCOTT, WISCONSIN
MONDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2018 PARKS AND PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the Parks & Public Property Committee was held
Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Municipal Building, 800 Borner St. Prescott, WI 54021.
Call to order/Roll Call: Alderperson Bailey Ruona called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. Members
present were Galen Seipel and Rob Daugherty. Public Works Employee Mike Kinneman and City
Administrator Jayne Brand represented staff. Also present Patrick Beilfuss of Cedar Corporation.
Patrick Beilfuss reviewed the results of an open house which was held on November 11, 2018. There
were 16 proposed projects for the residents to review. Based off their voting and comments the top
items to be completed are replacing the stairs coming off of the bridge, constructing a trail to Freedom
Park and replace the stairs and courtesy dock. The committee had discussions on how the projects
could be funded. We will need to look at grant possibilities from the Department of Natural Resources
and Department of Transportation and other agencies. We will also have to start meeting with the
Department of Natural Resources and Department of Transportation to explain the projects and gain
their support.
The committee decided they would start with the trail to Freedom Park as their first project. Courtesy
dock and green space would be the second or alternate project. It was also agreed that doing a painting
or mural and lighting under the bridge would be a good project which could be completed in 2019.
Daugherty/Ruona motion to adjourn passed without a negative voice vote.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jayne M. Brand
City Administrator
