SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 PARKS AND PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the Parks and Public Property Committee was held,
September 20, 2021, Municipal Building, 800 Borner Street, Prescott, WI 54021.
Call to Order: Alderperson Ruona called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Members present were Rob
Daugherty and Pat Knox . City Administrator Matt Wolf and City Clerk Jayne Brand represented staff. Also
present Seth Hudson, Ryan Jones and Greg Adams representing Cedar Corporation.
Ruona/Daugherty motion to approve the minutes for August 16, 2021 passed without a negative voice
vote.
Seth Hudson presented the plans for the Riverfront project. The overlook at the end of Orange Street has two
proposals. The alternate proposal which would have a walkway which cantilevers over the bluff will be bid
separate. Parking was reviewed and discussed. Garbage cans and recycle bins were discussed and the
committee would like to go with some type of enclosure. The timeline of the project has been broken into two
separate phases. The first phase would be completed by July 4th and the second phase by Prescott Daze. The
city has still not heard if they were awarded the Knowles- Nelson Stewardship grant for the trail to Freedom
Park. If the city receives this award the trail to Freedom Park would be included in this project.
Ryan Jones of Cedar Corporation worked with the committee on picking out benches, picnic tables, bollards
and lighting for the project.
The committee has scheduled a meeting with the downtown businesses to review the project on Wednesday,
September 22, 2021 at 6:00 pm
Ruona/Daugherty motion to adjourn passed without a negative voice vote.
