CITY OF PRESCOTT, WISCONSIN PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES FOR MAY 17, 2018 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the Personnel Committee was held Thursday 17, 2018, 800 Borner St., Prescott, WI 54021. Call to order/Roll Call: Alderperson Maureen Otwell called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Members present were Maureen Otwell and Dar Hintz. Rob Daugherty was excused. Also present City Administrator Jayne Brand. Hintz/Otwell motion to approve the minutes for April 17, 2018 passed without a negative voice vote. City Administrator Jayne Brand discussed with the committee the request to hire two public works employees. One of the public works employees resigned and this was the employee who was learning how to run the wastewater treatment plant. We also have an employee who will be returning toward the end of the year. Staff recommendation is to bring someone in so there is time to work with the employees before the retirement. Otwell/Hintz motion to move forward with hiring two employees for the public works department passed without a negative voice vote. Hintz/Otwell motion to allow the City Administrator to carry over 40 hours of vacation for 60 days passed without a negative voice vote. Other Business: The committee had discussions on comp time for public works employees. Possibly taking the overtime and rather than getting paid out to put it into comp time. There were also discussions of creating summer hours for the public works employees. The committee wants to get to full staff in public works and then continue discussions.
