Tourism Committee Meeting Minutes December 21st, 2023 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the Tourism Committee Meeting was held, December 21st, 2023, Prescott City Hall, 800 Borner Street N Prescott, Wisconsin 54021. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 PM Committee Present: Beth Lansing, Courtney Franklin, Chad Steger, Jasmine Westland, Todd London, Matt, Wolf, Kimberly Baun, Megan Langer Committee Absent: Melissa Bolle 1. Call to Order by Megan Langer 2. Megan Langer will reach out to Kirsten from Meraki to extend offer. First action item will to be to make brochure on the Grant Process for businesses 3. Meeting held to discuss the peramentor of what different businesses, nonprofits and organizations could submit to receive the Grant money that we have to give out. a. Looked deeper into the process of using not only marketing but also operational expenses that could be approved for a Tourism Grant. b. Updated the Tourism Grant Application c. Established baseline rules: i. Generally other WI Tourism Groups are mainly non-profits, we don’t want that ii. Tourism committee will not fund promotions for your business, e.g. coupons for out of city visitors iii. We will fund for marketing and advertisements to create draw to Prescott for non-Prescott people (paper and electronics) iv. We will connect people with Meraki for support to benefit from our contract v. Both for profit and non-profit organizations are eligible vi. We will fund event support, like the New Richmond model, but applicant will need to help connect how event will drive “beds in heads.” vii. Any illegal promotional activity will void any applicant or grant viii. We will build examples from last year 4. Beth Lansing will email the outline of the overview speech to Committee members to be able to present to different businesses and organizations within the Prescott area, so that the Committee can go out and get the word out about the Grant Application and what qualifies. We will also have Committee members talk at the Annual Dinner for the Prescott Chamber of Commerce to highlight the Grant Process and the different things that qualify for the process 5. New Business  a. Next meeting we will have Geneva Eilertson from BeLocal Magazine come and talk about Press Advertising 6. Adjourn The next meeting will be Tuesday January 2nd, 2024 at 12:00pm at First National Bank Board Room.
