Tourism Committee

Tourism Committee Meeting Minutes June 6, 2024 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of the Tourism Committee Meeting was held, June 4th 2024, First National Bank,1151 North Canton Street, Prescott , Wisconsin 54021. The meeting was called to order at 12:05 PM Committee Present: Jasmine Westland, Chad Steger, Elizabeth Lansing, Megan Langer, Todd London, Courtney Franklin Committee Absent: Chad Steger 1. Call to Order by Megan Langer 2. Grant initiative was discussed within the group. We need to bring more awareness to the Tourism Grant and how businesses and groups can use and apply for the Grant for different functions that they have that will bring more tourism into Prescott. Brainstorming on this will continue as we bring in more committee members. 3. We have currently two vacant committee spots. Discussed making sure we understood the number of members needed for the Prescott Tourism Committee. Will be putting post out to gauge an interest in the group and bring more committee members. 4. Grant Approval a. Fairy Wonderland Food Truck Festival- Grant was submitted to help offset the cost of bringing food trucks in to help raise money for the Fairy Wonderland Food Truck Festival. Megan Langer made a motion; Elizabeth Lansing 2nd the motion the motion passed (4-0) b. Prescott Historical Center- Submitted a proposal to offset the cost of having the exterior repairs and paint along with furnish and install new exterior signage. This does not fall within the parameters of the requirements to be eligible for a Grant so unfortunately is was not passed. However, the committee discussed using Marketing Dollars to have Travel Prescott or Prescott Tourism put on the signs as marketing and then would contribute half of the cost of the signs. Todd London will follow up with the Historical Center to discuss this with them. 5. Adjourn The next meeting will be Tuesday July 2nd, 2024 at 12:00pm at First National Bank Board Room.
