AGENDA FOR SPECIAL MEETING HELD BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF QUOGUE, ON FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2025 AT 11:00 A.M. PRESENT: OTHERS PRESENT: The Pledge of Allegiance. Approval of Abstract of Audited Vouchers Schedule 05A-25 in the amount of $xx. Motion By: Seconded: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HOME RULE REQUEST WHEREAS, legislation has been introduced in the New York State Assembly (Assembly Bill No. 8506) and the New York State Senate (Senate Bill No. 7946(A)) amending the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law and Public Officer’s Law in relation to authorizing the Village of Quogue to establish a demonstration program imposing monetary liability on the owner of a vehicle for failure of an operator thereof to comply with posted maximum speed limits; to authorize the operation of photo speed violations monitoring systems with the Village; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Quogue supports such legislation and desires to make a Home Rule Request pursuant to the Municipal Home Rule Law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Quogue hereby authorizes the Mayor and Village Clerk on behalf of the Village of Quogue to sign and submit a Home Rule Request supporting the enactment of said Assembly Bill No. 8506 and Senate Bill No. 7946(A) and Senate Bill No. 7946(A), amending the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law and Public Officer’s Law in relation to authorizing the Village of Quogue to establish a demonstration program imposing monetary liability on the owner of a vehicle for failure of an operator thereof to comply with posted maximum speed limits; to authorize the operation of photo speed violations monitoring systems with the Village; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof. Motion By: Seconded: Resolution to approve a contribution of $25,000 from the Village’s Conservation budget (A8710000) to the Southampton Township Waterfowl Association to help the Refuge address the exceptional costs presented by the dreaded southern pine beetle infestation.
