Radford City Electoral Board Meeting under §24.2-107 for the purpose of appointment of Officers of Election to serve for calendar year 2020. Chairman Wohlford called the meeting called to order at 10:05 Roll Call: Mr. Wohlford, yes Mr. Mannon, yes Ms. Turk, yes A quorum was established Also in attendance, Tracy Howard, Director of Elections. Approval of Minutes: Minutes from November 6th – 9th, 2019 ongoing Canvass and certification of November General Election; Motion to approve: Ms. Turk, Mr. Wohlford 2nd Mr. Mannon yes. Officer Appointments: Director Howard indicated that the office had received no officer nominations from either political party. Electoral Board consensus to contact officers from 2019 list and on-line nomination forms. Officers for March 3 rd, 2020: 5 officers per precinct for the March 3 primary, DoE to contact chiefs and 4 officers per precinct with an expected 10% turnout. Calendar for 2020 Schedule meeting for finalizing Officers, February 21 at 10 a.m. Schedule training for Feb 27 at 6:30 Schedule canvass at 9:00 am March 4 Schedule March re-organizational meeting March 4th at Canvass meeting Good of the order: Legislative and security discussion. Discussion of Bills before the General Assembly and potential impacts on Radford Elections. A closed session will be required with City IT department before March 1, 2020 to plan for ongoing security and state system requirements.
