Electoral Board

Radford City Electoral Board meeting - September 15, 2022 Meeting opened at 1:00 pm by Chairman Wohlford. Members present were Guy Wohford (Chairman), Ann Craig (Vice-Chair) and Joe Mannon (Secretary). Also present was Radford City Human Resources Director Dawn Diamond. Motion made by Mrs. Craig to move to a closed meeting, for the purpose of interviewing applicants for the position of Radford City General Registrar/Director of Elections, as authorized in Code of Virginia subsection 2.2-3711 A1. Second by Mr. Mannon. Mr. Wohlford yes. Closed meeting in recess until Monday, September 19, to complete the interview process. Closed meeting reconvened on 9-19-2022 by Chairman Wohlford, at 11:00 am. Interview completed and discussion held to select the preferred candidate for the GR/DOE position. Meeting in recess until reference checks are completed by Mrs. Diamond. The Board will convene at that time, but no later than September 23, 2022. Closed meeting reconvened on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 9:55 am. Mrs. Diamond informed us that she has completed the reference checks. Mrs. Diamond will make the job offer, contingent on final reference check from current employer designee, and completed criminal checks. Motion made by Craig to leave closed session. Second by Mannon. Wohlford yes. Open meeting immediately reconvened. All members agreed that only matters that were identified in the motion for a closed meeting were discussed. Mrs. Diamond informed the Board, in the open meeting, that GR/DOE Tracy Howard will not be officially retiring until March 1, as per a City Department Head meeting on September 20, 2022.
