City of Radford Electoral Board Minutes of Public Meeting October 23, 2023 Chairwoman Ann Craig called the meeting of the City of Radford Electoral Board to order at 3:52 p.m. on October 23, 2023, in the office of the General Registrar located at 619 2nd Street, Room 143, Radford, Virginia. Initially present were Chairwoman Craig and Secretary Carol Colby, constituting a quorum, as well as General Registrar Lindsey Williams. Report of General Registrar Mrs. Williams shared plans for the upcoming training for Officers of Election (OE). Mrs. Williams informed the Board that she hired Missy Mayweather as Chief Deputy Registrar. Vice Chairman Guy Wohlford joined the meeting at 4:03 p.m. and was brought up to speed on Mrs. Williams’s report. Mrs. Williams and the Board continued to discuss the upcoming OE training. They also discussed plans for the canvass following the November 7, 2023 election. The Board discussed OE assignments for the November election. Mrs. Williams stated that she would contact OEs who are on the approved list but not assigned to work the November election, as they might be needed for the 2024 elections. Secretary Colby moved to approve the list of OE assignments for the November 7, 2023 election. Vice Chairman Wohlford seconded, and the motion passed. Mrs. Williams informed the Board that precinct chiefs would post vote counts outside each precinct at 10 a.m., 12 noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. on the day of the election. The meeting was adjourned at 5:04 p.m. The Board will next meet to conduct OE training on Thursday, November 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers. Following the election, the Board will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8 at the Radford City Clerk’s office to begin the canvass, then 12 noon on Monday, November 13 at the Clerk’s office to consider provisional ballots, conclude the canvass, and certify the election.
