Radford Planning Commission Wednesday, February 17, 2021 Municipal Building Members Present: Mr. Collier - Present Mr. Gillespie - Present Ms. Hamden - Absent Mrs. Huntington - Present Dr. Pearce - Present Mr. Watson, Vice-Chairperson - Absent Mr. Howard, Chairperson - Absent Absent None Staff/Visitors: Melissa Skelton, City Staff Senior member, Dr. Pearce called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm in the Radford City Council Chambers at 10 Robertson Street, Radford Virginia, a quorum was present. Approval of Minutes for November 16, 2020 – Moved to March 15, 2021 meeting. Public Address: No public comments provided. NEW BUSINESS: SUBJECT: Special Use Permit request from Ellet Valley Investments SUMMARY: SP-21-001 – (1129 East Main Street) Ellet Valley Investments has submitted an application seeking approval of a Special Use Permit (SUP) for Tax Map #5-(1)-62T, 1129 East Main Street. The SUP application request is to allow residential use on the second floor of the existing building within the B-3 Business District. Ms. Skelton summarized the application request from Ellet Valley. Ms. April Demotts was in attendance for any questions. Commissioners agreed that Dr. Pearce, Mr. Collier and Mr. Gillespie would do a site visit. ACTION: Commissioner Gillespie made a motion to recommend to council to schedule a public hearing, Commissioner Collier seconded the motion.
