Consideration of Resolution No. 2014-5/Recognition of Police Week Motion by LaFore, seconded by Greene, to approve Resolution No. 2014-5, a Resolution designating May 11th through May 17th, 2014, as National Police Week. All yeas Motion passes 3. Consideration of Bid Award/Pavement Marking Contract 2014-PM-1 Motion by Yaroch, seconded by LaFore, to award Pavement Marking Contract 2014- PM-1 to P.K. Contracting with the expense of $4,376.35 charged to line item 202-474- 818.000, Contractual Services; Traffic Services: Major Street Fund and $4,813.35 charged to line item 203-474-818.000, Contractual Services; Traffic Services: Local Street Fund. Consideration of Bid Award/Water and Sewer System Materials Motion by LaFore, seconded by Misteravich, to award the Water Service Materials supply to Etna Supply Company at the unit prices as submitted for the time period May 1, 2014 to April 30, 2015 with the expenses charged to line item 591-548-770.000, System Materials; System Expense: Water Fund. Consideration of Appointment to the Recreation Board Motion by Greene, seconded by LaFore, to reappoint Lynore Warn to the Recreation Board for a 2-year term with an expiration date of March 31, 2016. All yeas Motion passes 6. Consideration of Approving the Richmond Flower Shop Special Event Request/Tent Sale City Manager Moore informed Council that the owners of the Richmond Flower Shop would like to place a 10’ X 20’ tent in the Pocket Park of the municipal parking lot to sell flowers for Mother’s Day. They would like to have the tent up from Tuesday, May 6th through Tuesday, May 13th. The tent would be placed approximately 15’ to 20’ away from the Memorial, along Main Street (alternate 1). If Council was uncomfortable with this location, the tent could be allowed in the municipal parking lot (alternate 2) Theresa Maniaci stated that the purpose of the tent was to create business for the downtown area. Council discussed the location of the tent in relation to the Veteran’s Memorial. Concern was expressed because the tent would be in the sidewalk right-of way. City Manager Moore proposed that the direction of the tent be changed so the long side of the tent ran alongside the edge of the building and the short side of the tent ran along Main Street (alternate 3). Councilors felt this placement was more favorable as it did not extend so far into sidewalk. Motion by Greene, seconded by Misteravich, to approve the tent request from Richmond Flower shop from May 6th to May 13th with the location identified as alternate #3, as proposed by the City Manager. All yeas Motion passes MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS FROM THE CITY MANAGER - James P Contracting will start the street reconstruction project tomorrow - The Contractor for the gas company began last week - The new DPW employee will start in 2 week - The new Voice Reporter is Kate Opalewski CCM: 05/05/2014 Page 4 of 6  APPROVED 05/19/2014 COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilors thanked the Administration for all of the work done in preparation for the budget workshops – it was a pleasure to work with everyone during these difficult economic times. Yaroch – Thanked the Richmond Area Pastors for organizing the National Day of Prayer.
