ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION
A. The Roosevelt Auditorium List
The Recreation Director and City Manager, along with the Recreation Board and City Council,
held a special meeting at the Roosevelt Auditorium. This meeting was needed to review the
interior and exterior of the building once the church had vacated, prior to a Fall of 2022 opening.
After the June 7, 2022 Walk Through, the Recreation Director and City Manager created a
“Priority List of Short- and Long-Term Projects”. This list was created from those comments
made by City Council members and Recreation Board members during the walk through.
Discussion: Under Maintenance add to repair the men’s bathroom urinal.
Motion by Kiel, seconded by Varga, to approve and forward to Council the Priority List of Short
and Long-Term Projects from the Aud walk through on June 7, 2022.
All yeas Motion passes
ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION
A. Summer Programs 2022
Having the opportunity for the Richmond Community Pool to host the Lifeguarding Class has
allowed us to train and retain lifeguards for the pool. We were able to put five guards through
the class and put them on our schedule. The increase in pay has helped also.
Camp Richmond is back after a two year break. The counselors have been doing an amazing job
and having fun with the children. Every day we are seeing a new child registered. Averaging
about 10 – 12 children per day. Posting on social media has helped to increase interest with new
families.
Saturday, July 23rd will be our annual Community Garage Sale from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Approval has been given to utilize the Good Old Days field. There will be no Goodwill pick up
this year due to staffing issues.
We will continue to offer some of our old programs while hoping to develop some new
partnerships with instructors to offer new and exciting programs.
