Minutes of Special Meeting The City Council City of Richwood A Special Meeting of the City Council of City of Richwood was held Thursday, May 21, 2015, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Richwood City Hall, 1800 N. Brazosport Blvd. Richwood, Texas. I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Clint Kocurek, Mayor and Presiding officer. II. INVOCATION The invocation was given by Councilman Beaty. III. PLEDGES OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge of Allegiance was recited by those in attendance. IV. ROLL CALL OF COUNCIL MEMBERS Roll call showed the following members present: Clint Kocurek, Mayor and Presiding Officer John Pitts, Council Position #2 Jarrod Beaty, Council, Position #3 Sarah Harris, Council, Position #4 Chris Hardison, Council, Position #5 Absent: Paul Raymond, Council, Position #1 and Mayor Pro Tem A quorum was declared. Others present included Glenn Patton, City Manager, Karen B. Schrom, City Secretary, Jennifer Beaty, Code Enforcement, Peggy Gartman, Gayle Pitts, Frank and Sai Blanks, Kat Venegas, Melissa Blanks, Council, Position #2 Elect, Sam and Maria Cisneros and Scott Blanks.  V. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Canvass May 9, 2015 Election On motion by Councilman Pitts, seconded by Councilman Beaty, with all members present voting aye, the election of May 9, 2015 were canvassed, accept and placed in the Public Record. The results are as follows: Mayor Clint Kocurek 110 Position #2 Melissa Blanks 90 Mark Guthrie 46 Position #3 Jarrod Beaty 81 Lauren LaCount 48 Proposition #1 Street Sales Tax For 99 Against 32 B. Swear in new members of Council Clint Kocurek, Jarrod Beaty and Melissa Blanks were sworn in and took their respective places on Council. Mayor Kocurek read a proclamation, proclaiming May 22nd as John Pitts Day in Richwood. Councilman Beaty stated it was an honor to serve with Mr. Pitts. There will be refreshments after the meeting. VI. ANYONE WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL There were none. VII.
