Minutes of Crime Control and Prevention District Board Meeting The City Council City of Richwood A Crime Control and Prevention District Board Meeting of the City Council of City of Richwood was held Thursday, January 11, 2018, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Richwood City Hall, 1800 N. Brazosport Blvd. Richwood, Texas. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. SWEAR IN NEW MEMBER(S) Oscar "Buster" Primm Kathy Vickers Ms. Cantu administered the statement and oath to Oscar “Buster” Primm and Kathy Vickers. ROLL CALL OF COUNCIL MEMBERS Brian Allen, President Randy Day – ABSENT Randy Accord Kat Venegas Kathy Vickers Oscar “Buster” Primm Others present: Bryan Corb, Chief of Police and Giani Cantu, City Secretary PUBLIC COMMENTS All public comments will be subject to the following rules: all speakers will be permitted to speak no longer than 3 minutes; all speakers will only be permitted to speak once; speakers cannot defer their 3 minutes to another speaker; the first five individuals who sign up for the public comment section will be permitted to speak There were no public comments. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On motion by Kat Venegas second by Randy Accord with all present members voting “aye” the minutes were approved. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS Discuss and consider allocation of proposed Fiscal Year 2018 - 2019 funds for the purpose of a 25% cost match on an equipment grant for the purchase of new body cameras in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00 Chief Corb gave a review of current body cameras; the grant details and options for new body cameras. Randy Accord asked if the typical life span was three years. Chief Corb reported that a span of three to five years was typical. Buster Primm asked if there were certain requirements for the body cameras. Chief Corb stated there is currently no state mandate. However, the City currently utilizes the program and it is helpful for perception and detailing. Buster Primm asked how many cameras will be purchased. Chief Corb stated they will purchase 14 body cameras. The total for all equipment would be approximately $16,000.00. This would allow every officer to have one and allow for reserves or damages. On motion by Randy Accord second by Buster Primm, with all present members voting “aye” the allocation of proposed Fiscal Year 2018-2019 funds for the purpose of a 25% match on an equipment grant for the purchase of new body cameras in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00 was approved. Review of financials and sales tax revenues Brian Allen asked for the financials prior to the next meeting.
