MINUTES KEEP RICHWOOD BEAUTIFUL COMMISSION MEETING Tuesday, December 03, 2024 at 6:00 PM BE IT KNOWN THAT a City of Richwood Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission will meet Tuesday, December 03, 2024, beginning at 6:00 PM at Richwood City Hall, located at 1800 Brazosport Blvd. N., Richwood, Texas 77531 with the following agenda: I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. II. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS PRESENT Tracy Bocanegra Kai York ABSENT Denise York III. PUBLIC COMMENTS There was no public comment. IV. REPORT ON RECENT EVENTS A. Trunk or Treat, October 25 The event was successful; children were very interested in the educational material. B. Fall Sweep, November 2 Fall sweep was from the garden down to Bobby Ford. Discussion was held on possibly having a no littering sign. Discussion held on litter survey. V. YARD OF THE MONTH Christmas - Best Decorated Yard of the Month Discussion was held on the method of obtaining entries. VI. COMMUNITY GARDEN REPORT Discussion held on purchasing another garden bed. Discussion held on purchasing more community garden shirts. Garden Shirts: 6 small 2 3xl 2 2xl  Motion to purchase 4 more beds Motion made by Tracy Bocanegra, Seconded by Kai York. Voting Yea: Tracy Bocanegra, Kai York Motion carried. VII. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Discuss and consider placement of donated mangolia trees in Ellis park and schedule workday. Discussed planting near the Ellis bench - possibly see if public works could assist. B. Update and discussion on recently submitted grant applications. Margaret reported that we did not win either grant. C. Discuss and consider recruitment for 2025, hosting events and setting a budget. Discussion held on recruitment. D. Discuss and consider fundraising initiatives for 2025. Discussion held on possible fundraising items for the upcoming year. E. Discussion and possible action on purchasing selected promotional items, quantities and budget. Margaret presented promotional items to the board to consider for purchase. Bring back for future agenda. VIII. FINANCIAL REPORT A. Keep Richwood Beautiful Budget Report Kirsten Garcia, City Secretary, presented the budget report. IX. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Margaret McMahan presented her report. X. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST GCAA Project complete XI. SET NEXT MEETING DATE January 7, 2024. XII.
