The Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission Meeting of Monday,
January 6, 2020
BE IT KNOWN THAT, a Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission Meeting of the Keep
Richwood Beautiful Commission of City of Richwood was held Monday, January 6, 2020,
beginning at 6:00 PM in the Richwood City Hall, 1800 N. Brazosport Blvd. Richwood, Texas.
I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.
II. INVOCATION
Janet Jackson-Ellis led the invocation.
III. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS
Kim Mayer, Executive Director
Brittany Figaro, Chairman
Tara Riley, Vice-Chairman
Audrey Johnson
Janet Jacket-Ellis
IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no public comments.
V. CONSENT AGENDA
A. Approval of minutes from meeting held December 3, 2019.
On a motion by Brittany Figaro, second by Audrey Johnson, with all present
members voting aye, the consent agenda was approved.
VI. REPORTS ON RECENT EVENTS
A. Christmas in the Park
Janet Jackson-Ellis stated she was impressed with Christmas in the Park – the
activities were wonderful.
Kimberly Mayer stated she estimated we served around 150 people and she was
open to advice for next year.
Brittany Figaro stated the hot cocoa needs to be on a different station/table.
Kimberly Mayer stated she thinks we should keep that date of the month.
VII. BOARD MEMBER ELECTIONS
A. CHAIRMAN – Audrey Johnson nominated Brittany Figaro, Tara Riley,
seconded.
B. VICE CHAIRMAN/TREASURER – Brittany nominated Tara Riley, Audrey
seconded.
C. SECRETARY – Vacant. (Kirsten will continue to fill the role)
On a motion by Audrey Johnson, second by Tara Riley, with all members voting
aye, new board members were approved.
VIII. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS
A. Discussion and action on obtaining a Scenic City Certification
Kimberly presented information on Scenic City Certification.
Discussion held on benefit of certification.
Certification tabled to February.
B. Discussion and action on a Yard of the Month Standard Operating Procedure.
Kimberly Mayer presented her plan for Yard of the Month
On a motion by Brittany Figaro, second by Audrey Johnson with all present
members voting aye, the Yard of the Month Standard Operating Procedure was
approved.
C. Discussion and possible action on ideas for Servolution 2020.
Kimberly Mayer presented information for Servolution 2020, held on March 1,
2020.
Kimberly Mayer suggested painting the community building or places around the
park.
Brittany Figaro stated Norel, Swagelok or Mccoys have donated in the past, we
can see if we can get paint donated.
No further discussion was held.
D. Discussion and Action on Master Gardener training for the Executive Director in
the amount of $200.00
On a motion by Brittany Figaro, second by Audrey Johnson, with all present
members voting aye, Master Gardener training for the Executive Director in the
amount of $200.00 was approved.
E. Discussion and possible action on scheduling a committee workday.
Discussion held on scheduling and planning the workday.
Servolution will be a workday, but not mandatory.
No further discussion held.
IX. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Kimberly Mayer presented her report.
She stated she was looking into Adan Reyes and getting in touch with him. The
annual recognition report is in progress. The Governor’s Community Achievement
Award is also in progress.
