Minutes of Regular The Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission Regular Meeting of Tuesday, June 2, 2020 BE IT KNOWN THAT, a Keep Richwood Beautiful Commission Regular Meeting of the Regular of City of Richwood was held Tuesday, June 2, 2020, beginning at 6:00 PM in the Richwood City Hall 1800 N. Brazosport Blvd. Richwood, Texas 77531. I. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. II. ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS Kimberly Mayer, Executive Director Brittany Figaro, Chairman Tara Riley, Vice Chairman Audrey Johnson Janet Jackson-Ellis – absent III. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments. IV. REPORT ON RECENT EVENTS A. Farmers Market Per Brittany 10,000 lbs of food distributed to over 200 families, good publicity for Richwood, trying to hold one once a quarter, Brazosport Cares Food Pantry is always looking for volunteers V. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS A. Discussion and possible action on moving forward with Pride of Richwood video project and possible flag or yardsigns. Discussion held about a way to bring the community together in the midst of pent up frustrations and possibly taping an uplifting video and or placing Richwood Pride yard signs in residents yards who are interested and putting the city logo on 20 flags and putting those up when we display American flags during holidays. All members agreed. Brittany Figaro moved that we approve a $1,000 budget for flags and yard signs. Audrey Johnson seconded. All voted in favor. Motion carries. B. Discussion and possible action regarding the cancellation of the Keep Texas Beautiful Conference 1 Discussion held on the cancellation of Keep Texas Beautiful Conference. Kimberly Mayer said that all hotel and conference reservations have been canceled. KTB will send more info on the virtual conference happening August 25-26 at $99 per person. No action taken. C. Discussion and action choosing Yard of the Month Discussion and Action on Yard of the Month- Tara Riley chose 33410 Blue Crab Ct. in Oakwood Shores as June’s Yard of the month. Kimberly Mayer will contact the homeowner and set up a time to display the sign and take pictures. Discussion was held on possibly giving out gift cards to the winners. Will most likely add that in to FY 20-21 Budget. D. Discussion and possible action regarding All American Day. Discussion on All American Day- Discussion held on canceling summer events due to COVID 19. Surrounding cities are following suit. However, we will be holding a drive thru event on July 4th to celebrate All American Day. Details on Facebook event page. Brittany Figaro moved that we budget $1,000 for the event. Tara Riley seconded the motion. All in favor and motion carried. E. Discussion and reminder for Budget Workshop VI. FINANCIAL REPORT No Financial Report was available, and none was read since we are having a budget meeting on Thursday. VII. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Most Patriotic Yard of the Month- details on Facebook Page VIII. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST IX. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Art Wall Scholarship Winner Bocce Ball/ Horseshoes at Larry Johnson Park Cd/Bank information Update on Community Garden and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Litter Index- KTB Gift cards for future Yard of the Month winners Yard of the month- July X.
