ROLL CALL: Present: Eric Bruen, Scott Hayman, Vanessa Hayman Absent: Staff: Nerissa Wegener Recording Secretary: Melinda Beck APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Committee approved the agenda APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion was made to approve the Minutes for the February 2 nd, 2021 meeting. Minutes Approved PUBLIC COMMENT OF THE ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA: The committee and public discussed the SPP Grant. Staff had a board showing the layout that was chosen by the community and had the most votes. (A competitive pool and a separated kiddy pool). Staff updated the community on where we are at with the application process. Then the meeting was an open discussion. We discussed concerns the community had about the pool not being an indoor pool. Staff explained that building an indoor pool wasn’t in our budget for build and yearly maintenance. The community asked about the type of art that was chosen and other ways that we could add on to that such as having local artists possibly paint some murals on walls. The community also discussed the positioning of the trees or bushes they expressed concern about the wind and debris blowing into the pool. They expressed how they felt that the trees/bushes should not be located near the pool. They suggested that they would like to see them along the front of the entry building or near the parking lot. Staff with have the concept plan reflect this upon submission of the application. Another thing the community mentioned was they want the City to make sure that there is plenty of shade throughout the pool area. Once the discussion was done the community then walked the site and left notes for staff to review.
