All minutes were approved. Public comment of items not on the agenda · No public comment New business · ARPA projects – Upcoming ARPA projects that have been or will be brought to council for approval will be: o Roofs at Leroy Jackson Sports Complex and Upjohn Park o Water tank replacement at Leroy Jackson Sports Complex o Lighting at Pearson Park o Smart Water System o Floor and partition replacement at Kerr McGee Center o Bathroom at Leroy Jackson o Tennis Court renovation o Meeting with Baseball and contractors will take place regarding new Pinto field project Old business · Clean CA Grant – Components have been completed and finalized for the application. Components will include: o Walking path completion o Solar lighting o Edging/defining fields with shade trees o Benches with shade huts along path o Additional drinking fountains with water bottle fillers (x2) o Wind resistant trash/recycle/compost bins (x16 sets) o Lighting at tennis courts o Dial a ride stop o Educational outreach (community clean up days, hazardous waste pick up days, community compost give-a-ways etc.) o Xeriscaping o Additional drought tolerant shade trees and shrubs · Smart Water System – Nick, Supervisor of Parks Maintenance, was brought in to discuss this system and the benefits. He feels that the main benefits will be water savings. Timers are connected to cellular towers and take weather data which in turn causes the system to adjust watering schedule according to the weather. This system will also allow water monitoring remotely which will allow water shut off from anywhere without having to do a call out which saves on employee hours and overtime. It will also tell us how many gallons of water we are using, if we have stuck valves etc. Items from Director · Youth Basketball has begun. Ended up with 37 teams, which is a great turn out. · Adult Flag Football has been cancelled due to only 1 team enrolling. · Adult Basketball has been open for registration. Sign-ups will end February 13th. · LED lights at City Hall have been installed in the parking lot Committee Comments · Scott Hayman addressed that Pickle Ball needs to be on our radar and would like to see that project included in ARPA projects being brought forward in the next few months.
