PURPOSE AND FUNCTION It is the purpose of the Budget Engagement Commission to advise the City Council on spending and policy priorities based on the information received through quarterly financial and performance reports, including revenues from transaction and use tax, to work with City staff to maximize public engagement on municipal budgetary issues and to provide input on performance measures and reporting programs. MEASURE Z (APPROVED BY VOTERS NOVEMBER 2016) To prevent cutting police, firefighters, paramedics, 911 emergency response, antigang/drug programs, homelessness reduction and youth afterschool/senior/disabled services; to repair local streets/potholes/infrastructure; and to provide other general services. PLEASE NOTE--The numerical order of items on this agenda is for convenience of reference. Items may be taken out of order upon request of the Commission Members.
