Mission Statement
The mission of the Riverside Commission on Aging is to enhance the quality of life for
seniors in our community. We study local senior issues to learn about current programs,
define future needs, and reference best practices. We then make recommendations to
the Mayor and City Council on ways we think the City of Riverside can maintain and
improve its status as a Senior-Friendly Community.
SPEAKER CARDS--If you wish to address the Commission on Aging, please complete
and submit a speaker card to a Staff Member. Speaker cards can be found with the Staff
Member. Speaker cards will be accepted until conclusion of Oral Communications from
the Audience. In accordance with the Public Records Act, any information you provide
on this form is available to the public.
Accessibility to Meetings: The City of Riverside wishes to make all of its public meetings
accessible to the public. Upon request, this agenda will be made available in appropriate
alternative formats to persons with disabilities, as required by 42 U.S.C. §12132 of the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Any person with a disability, who requires a
modification or accommodation in order to participate in a meeting, should direct such

PUBLIC COMMENT
1 This is an opportunity for members of the public to address the Commission on any
subject matter that is within the Commission's jurisdiction. Each member of the
public will be given three (3) minutes to speak on any item on the agenda or on any
subject matter that is within the Commission's jurisdiction. You will be asked to state
your name and city of residence.

CONSENT CALENDAR
3 All matters listed under Consent Calendar are considered routine by the
Commission on Aging and may be enacted by one motion in the form listed below.
There will be no separate discussion of these items unless, before the Commission
on Aging votes on the motion to approve the recommendations, Commissioners,
staff, or public request specific items to be removed from the Consent Calendar for
separate action. Removed consent items will be discussed separately.

REVIEW OF BOARD ATTENDANCE
Commissioners will review the board attendance policy and discuss concerns.
5 Determine whether Commissioner Shari Fleischman's absense from the regular
Commission on Aging Meeting April 10, 2018, should be recorded as an excused or
unexcused absense.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
6 Discussion on advertising the Commission on Facebook, senior centers, etc.
7 Discussion on placing a senior center in the Orangecrest area.
8 Discussion on what kind of outreach can the Commission do?
