Pursuant to Government code section 54954.2 the Community Police Review Commission will conduct a meeting at the above time and place for the purpose of transacting or discussing business as identified on this agenda. PLEASE NOTE: The scheduled hearing times are approximate. No item will be heard before its scheduled time but may be heard later in the meeting. 4:30 - CASE REVIEW 1 Roll Call 2 CPRC Vice-Chair Election Election to fill the vacant Vice-Chair position. Commissioners can inform the Commission of their interest in this office or can nominate a fellow Commissioner during this meeting. The candidates may also speak about their qualifications. When discussion has been completed, the Administrative Assistant will call for the vote. The Nominee receiving the majority affirmative vote will be elected. The Brown Act prohibits members of a board or commission from using e-mail to discuss, deliberate or otherwise address any issue within the subject matter jurisdiction of the body. It is legally irrelevant whether or not a collective concurrence is reached outside of a properly noticed meeting. The mere act of e-mailing a quorum in an attempt to influence is a violation of the law. 3 Public Comments This is an opportunity for members of the public to address the Commission on closed session items. City of Riverside Page 1 Printed on 7/15/2016 Community Police Review Agenda July 27, 2016 Commission 4 Closed Session – Case Review Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957, the Commission will adjourn to Closed Session to discuss issues pertaining to PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERSONNEL MATTERS. CPRC CASE NO. RPD CASE NO. 1) 16-003 PC-16-03008 5:30 PM – REGULAR MEETING PLEASE NOTE: Any person wishing to speak on an agenda item must file this form prior to the beginning of the meeting or the time that the item is called for discussion. Public Comment will take place after the introduction of each agenda item. The speaker may choose to address the Commission either before OR after discussion by Commissioners, but may only speak one time on any agenda item. The speaker must check the appropriate box on the “Request to Speak” form, specifying if they wish to speak before or after discussion of an agenda item. The same rules apply to presentations by guest speakers and / or a training course for Commissioners. Any questions posed by members of the public during public comment may be asked of the presenter only by the Commission Chair during Commission discussion. Five (5) minutes per speaker may be allocated family members or their spokesperson speaking regarding an officer-involved death. Three (3) minutes per speaker may be allocated for all other public comment. B) Scheduled Outreach Events 1) National Night Out, August 2nd: numerous locations throughout the City C) Future Outreach Opportunities 1) Input from Outreach Coordinator on potential outreach events 2) Input from Commission Members on potential outreach events 11 Meetings and Training Sessions Reports from Commissioners regarding CPRC-based meetings, non-Outreach meetings, and / or training sessions attended in June / July. 12 Commission Goals for 2016 Update regarding the following 2016 goals: A) Meet with DA regarding the timely completion of OID investigations B) Meet with RPD regarding the timely completion and receipt of complaint investigations C) Create Spanish version of CPRC brochure 13 Staff Report OTHER MATTERS 14 Commission Member Comments Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.2, Commission members may use this time to make brief announcements or a brief report on their own activities. 15 Items for Future Commission Consideration Items for future Commission consideration can be agendized by any Commissioner.
