City of Riverside 3900 Main St. Riverside, CA 92522 CPRC (951) 826-5509 Community Police Review Commission Agenda Wednesday, June 28, 2017 5:30 PM City Hall - Art Pick Council Chamber MISSION STATEMENT "The Community Police Review Commission was created in order to promote public confidence in the professionalism and accountability of the sworn staff of the Riverside Police Department." Pursuant to Government code section 54954.2 the Community Police Review Commission will conduct a meeting at the above time and place for the purpose of transacting or discussing business as identified on this agenda. 5:30 PM – REGULAR MEETING PLEASE NOTE: Any person wishing to speak on an agenda item must file this form prior to the beginning of the meeting or the time that the item is called for discussion. Public Comment will take place after the introduction of each agenda item. The speaker may choose to address the Commission either before OR after discussion by Commissioners, but may only speak one time on any agenda item. The speaker must check the appropriate box on the “Request to Speak” form, specifying if they wish to speak before or after discussion of an agenda item. The same rules apply to presentations by guest speakers and / or a training course for Commissioners. Any questions posed by members of the public during public comment may be asked of the presenter only by the Commission Chair during Commission discussion. Five (5) minutes per speaker may be allocated family members or their spokesperson speaking regarding an officer-involved death. Three (3) minutes per speaker may be allocated for all other public comment. B) Youth Outreach C) Ensure that CPRC Brochures are in all local City Community Centers D) Create and send a separate assessment form to RPD Officers F) Receive completed assessment forms from 1% of the city’s population 9 Staff Report City of Riverside Page 2 Printed on 6/16/2017 Community Police Review Agenda June 28, 2017 Commission NEW COMMISSION ACTIVITIES & ISSUES 10 Annual Review of the City's Code of Ethics and Conduct Discussion and action, if any regarding the City’s Code of Ethics and Conduct Riverside Municipal Code 2.78 requires that, prior to the end of July of each year, the boards and commissions shall agendize and discuss at a regular meeting the Code of Ethics and Conduct and submit to the Board of Ethics any recommendations for the Board’s consideration. This matter will be heard by the Board of Ethics at 5 PM on Thursday, August 3, 2017, in the Art Pick Council Chamber. The City Council Governmental Affairs Committee will consider the Board of Ethics recommendations at their September 6, 2017, meeting. The City Council will conduct a public hearing prior to the end of the year to consider all recommendations.
