City of Rochester Appointments Review Committee January 27, 2026 APPOINTMENTS REVIEW COMMITTEE of the Rochester City Council Tuesday, January 27, 2026 Council Chambers – Conference Room 6:00 PM Minutes Call to Order Councilor Richardson called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. All members were present. Review and Discussion of Applications and Current Membership The Committee discussed the pending applications and the current board memberships. There was a discussion regarding board and commission seats nearing the expiration of their terms, and the possibility of making such seats more open to challenges from new candidates seeking appointment. No motions were made at this time. New Appointments There were no new appointments for consideration at this time. Re-Appointments Alexandra van Binsbergen RE-APPOINTMENT Recreation & Arena Commission Regular Member Seat C – Term to Expire 1/2/2029 City of Rochester Appointments Review Committee January 27, 2026 The Committee reviewed the Statement of Interest. Councilor Horne MOVED to recommend Alexandra van Binsbergen. Councilor Creteau seconded the motion. The MOTION CARRIED by a unanimous voice vote. Matthew Mayberry RE-APPOINTMENT Rochester Economic Development Comm. Regular Member Seat I – Term to Expire 1/2/2029 The Committee reviewed the Statement of Interest. Councilor Creteau MOVED to recommend Matthew Mayberry. Councilor Thompson seconded the motion. The MOTION CARRIED by a unanimous voice vote. Zebediah McGill RE-APPOINTMENT Planning Board Regular Member Seat G – Term to Expire 1/2/2029 The Committee reviewed the Statement of Interest. The Committee discussed its preference to see more information provided on future applications for re-appointment. Councilor Creteau MOVED to recommend Zebediah McGill. Councilor Thompson seconded the motion. The MOTION CARRIED by a 4 to 1 roll call vote as follows: Councilors Creteau, Horne, Thompson, and Richardson voted in favor; Councilor Rice voted against.
