ROME CITY COMMISSION Special Called Meeting Friday, April 11, 2025 The Rome City Commission met in a special called meeting this date at 10:00 a.m. in the Sam King Room of City Hall, 601 Broad Street. Mayor McDaniel presided with Mayor Pro Tem Bojo, and Commissioners Brock, Cochran, Beeman, Doss, Quick, Collins, and Robinson present. Mayor Pro Tem Bojo opened the meeting with prayer and led in the salute to the flag. Executive Session Commissioner Bojo moved to enter Executive Session for the purpose of discussing one Real Estate matter. Commissioner Robinson seconded, and the vote was unanimously in favor. Riverside Parkway Property – Option to Purchase The Commission exited Executive Session at 10:33 a.m. on the motion of Commissioner Quick, second of Commissioner Doss and a unanimous vote. Commissioner Robinson moved to authorize the City of Rome to execute an option to purchase for property located at the corner of Riverside Parkway NE and Riverside Industrial Park. This property consists of approximately 2.6 acres and comprised of tax map parcels J13X-049, 057, 058, and 059. The purchase price for this property will be $2.1 million and the City of Rome will submit $50,000 in earnest money. The city will have a 45-day due diligence period prior to closing. This property will be used for a new police department as authorized and funded through the 2023 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax referendum. Commissioner Bojo seconded the motion, and the vote was unanimously in favor. Adjourn With there being no further business, Mayor McDaniel adjourned the meeting at 10:35 a.m. Joseph F.
