Welcome and Introduction of Visitors
Chair Clonts welcomed the public to the meeting and requested that all visitors sign in.
Approval of March 2023 Agenda The agenda was approved by common consent.
CITY OF ROME CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS APPLICATIONS:
COA 816-23: 303 East 1st Avenue BTR Historic District
Planning Director Art Newell presented the staff report and the application to the Commission and the public. Chair Clonts opened the
public hearing.
JP Selle spoke in favor of the application. No one was present to speak in opposition.
Chair Clonts closed the public hearing and opened it up for Commission comments. Selle is requesting to install twelve windows to the
total structure, 6 on each side façade to convert the building into four apartments. There will be no changes to the front or rear façade.
Newell showed pictures of the current structure and drawings of the proposed window installation. Hager made the motion to approve
the changes and Maloney seconded. The motion passed 4-0

NEW BUSINESS:
The board revisited the mural guidelines and Clonts reminded the committee that his understanding of the guidelines was they were
“guidelines with latitude, not rules”. Boss made the motion to approve the mural guidelines and Hager seconded.

ADJOURNMENT:
Hager made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Maloney. The meeting adjourned at 3:05 pm by common consent.

Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 2:30 pm, in the Sam King Room in City Hall, 601 Broad Street.
