Approval of January 2024 Agenda Boss made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Moss. The agenda was approved by common consent. Approval of Minutes from October 2023 Boss made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Moss. The minutes were approved by common consent. CITY OF ROME CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS APPLICATIONS: COA821-24: 419 Broad Street Between the Rivers Historic District HPC/Associate Planner Harris presented the staff report and the application to the Commission and the public. Chair Clonts opened the public hearing. Bill Jones spoke in favor of the application. He provided in-depth details of the project and what changes would be made and was available to answer any questions. He noted the (2) residential loft spaces on the upper level, plans to replace the door on the left side of the lower level, to replace the windows and paint the front façade. No one was present to speak in opposition. 1 Chair Clonts closed the public hearing and opened it up for Commission comments. Boss made the motion to approve the request and both Blalock and Moss seconded. The motion passed 4-0. MEMBER MEMBER M – Motion F – For A – Against S – Second AB – Abstained Cameron Abney AB David Clonts F Paula Blalock Jake Hager F Logan Boss F Tayesha Lytle F Sam Moss OLD BUSINESS: HPC/Associate Planner Harris provided an update on the number of Administrative Approvals from October (8), November (4), December (3) and current to date for January (1). NEW BUSINESS: Electing a new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for 2024: David Clonts was nominated as Chairperson and Logan Boss was nominated as Vice Chairperson, this passed by a vote of 5-0. Determine new date for June 2024 Meeting, current date falls on Juneteenth Holiday. Tuesday, June 18th was selected as the new date for the June 2024 Meeting. ADJOURNMENT: Boss made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Blalock. The meeting adjourned at 2:58 pm by common consent. Next Public meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission: There will not be a meeting in February. The next regular monthly meeting will be Wednesday, March 20, 2023, at 2:30 pm, in the Commission Chambers in City Hall, 601 Broad Street.
