Approval of March 2024 Agenda Blalock made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Hager. The agenda was approved by common consent. Approval of Minutes from January 2024 Hager made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Blalock. The minutes were approved by common consent. CITY OF ROME CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS APPLICATIONS: COA822-24: 314 E 1st Avenue Between the Rivers Historic District HPC/Associate Planner Harris presented the staff report and the application to the Commission and the public. Chair Clonts opened the public hearing. Grant Biddle spoke in favor of the application and the repairs to the structure/site improvements and was available to answer questions. No one was present to speak in opposition. Chair Clonts closed the public hearing and opened it up for Commission comments. 1 Boss made the motion to approve the request and Blalock seconded. The motion passed 4-0. Chair Clonts opened the public hearing. Scott Preston was present to speak in favor of the application and to answer any questions. Phil Burkhalter was present to speak in favor of the application and what paint colors they would be using (off white with gray trim). No one was present to speak in opposition. Chair Clonts closed the public hearing and opened it up for Commission comments. Boss made the motion to approve the request and Hager seconded. The motion passed 4-0. ADJOURNMENT: Hager made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Boss. The meeting adjourned at 3:02 pm by common consent. Next Public meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission: There will not be a meeting in April. The next regular monthly meeting will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 2:30 pm, in the Commission Chambers in City Hall, 601 Broad Street.
