City of Roswell Cemetery Board Tuesday, February 18, 2014 South Park Cemetery Conference Room Committee Members Present: Jake Trujillo, Vice President Rita Kane-Doerhoefer, Member Millie Schaeffer, Member Committee Members absent: Myrline Chance, President Joanne Rose, Member Other Elected Official present: ---- Staff Present: Mike Kirk, Cemetery Sexton Yolanda Duran, Cemetery Bookkeeper Others present: Jared Kallunki in representation of Barbara A. Patterson Larry Connolly The meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. by Mr. Jake Trujillo. Committee members, Trujillo, Kane-Doerhoefer, and Schaeffer were present, representing a quorum. Committee member Rose was absent and President of the Board Myrline was absent. Ms. Schaeffer moved to approve agenda as presented. Ms. Kane-Doerhoefer was the second. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Ms. Schaeffer moved to approve the February 18, 2014 minutes. Ms. Kane-Doerhoefer was the second. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Public Participation on Agenda Items: No public participation Sexton’s Report: Sexton Kirk reported there were twenty nine burials in January, and twenty three funerals to date in February. Regular Items: A. Appointment of New Board of Directors Secretary Ms. Schaeffer made a motion to appoint Ms. Kane-Doerhoefer as the Cemetery Board Secretary. Mr. Trujillo seconded the motion. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Old Business: Ms. Kane-Doerhoefer proposed reappointing Ms. Chance, Cemetery Board President for another term. She reminded the Cemetery Board that in order for Ms. Chance to be reelected she needed to submit a letter to the Cemetery Board and the City Mayor expressing her desire to continue to serve as the Cemetery Board President for another term. New Business: Mr. Trujillo requested to add the election of the new Cemetery Board President and Vice President to the March 2014 agenda. Public Participation on Non- Agenda Items: None. Next Meeting Date: The next board meeting will be March 18, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
