Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, June 21, 2022 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Committee Member Present: Jack Ferguson, President Jeremy Hurley, Secretary Danny Fulkerson, Member Jake Trujillo, Member Juan Oropesa, Liaison Committee Member Absent: Jim Bloodhart, Vice President Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant Call to Order President, Jack Ferguson, called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. Committee members present Trujillo, Hurley, and Fulkerson. Approval of Agenda Mr. Hurley moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Trujillo seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried, the June 21, 2022 agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes Mr. Fulkerson made a motion, seconded by Mr. Trujillo to approve the minutes of the April 19, 2022 meeting after a name correction on item 2. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Non-Action Items 2. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel reported 37 services for April 34 for May and as of June 21, 2022, 24 funerals had taken place. Mr. Esquivel also reported that they are waiting on the engineers to move on with the new well that will placed. Waiting on the architects to start the building of the columbarium and waiting on the material to start the addition at the General Douglas McBride Veteran’s Cemetery. 4. Bookkeeper’s Report- Mrs. Diaz reported seven lot sales, three transfers, one pay off and two contracts for April. One pay off, six lot sales, two transfers and three new contract for May. 5. Discuss plans for Block 72- Mr. Esquivel proposed that Block 72 which is currently planned as a future Babyland be changed and laid out to become a regular burial block. The demand for baby or infant burials has not been as expected and the actual Babyland still has room for burial. Mr. Esquivel proposed that because the demand for regular size lots has increased that Block 72 change and babyland moved to a future block that has not been laid out. Board members will vote at next meeting if change can be made. Public Comments None Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m. Next Meeting Date Next meeting to be held July 19, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
