Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, July 19, 2022 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Committee Member Present: Jack Ferguson, President Jim Bloodhart, Vice President Jeremy Hurley, Secretary Danny Fulkerson, Member Jake Trujillo, Member Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant Others Present: Jim Burress, Parks Director (via telephone) Abraham Chaparro, Project Manager Jeff Stuart, MRWM Landscape Architects Call to Order President, Jack Ferguson, called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. Committee members present Bloodhart, Trujillo, Hurley, and Fulkerson. Approval of Agenda Mr. Trujillo moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Bloodhart seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried, the July 19, 2022 agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes Mr. Hurley made a motion, seconded by Mr. Fulkerson to approve the minutes of the June 21, 2022 meeting. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion carried. Action 2. Plans for Block 72- President Jack Ferguson entertained a motion to proceed with changing block 72 from future Babyland to a regular burial block. Mr. Fulkerson moved to approve the proposal Mr. Trujillo was second. A voice vote was unanimous and motion carried. 3. Columbarium Plans- President Jack Ferguson entertained a motion to proceed and accept the columbarium plans presented. Mr. Hurley moved to approve the proposal Mr. Bloodhart was second. A voice vote was unanimous and motion carried. Non-Action Items 4. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel reported 29 services for June as of July 19, 2022, 16 funerals had taken place. 5. Bookkeeper’s Report- Mrs. Diaz reported six lot sales, three transfers, one pay off and two contracts for June. Public Comments Abraham Chaparro project manager informed the board that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Honor Guard Shelters would take place July 22, 2022 at 8 a.m. at the General Douglas McBride Veteran’s Cemetery. Construction would start July 25, 2022 and last approximately 45 days to complete. Adjourn The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m. Next Meeting Date Next meeting to be held August 16, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.
