Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, September 20, 2022 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Committee Member Present: Jack Ferguson, President Jeremy Hurley, Secretary Danny Fulkerson, Member Jake Trujillo, Member Committee Member Absent: Jim Bloodhart, Vice President Juan Oropesa, Liaison Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent Matthew Morales, Cemetery Supervisor Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant Others Present: Victoria Arnett, Eagle Scout (via telephone) Call to Order President, Jack Ferguson, called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. Committee members present Hurley, Trujillo, and Fulkerson. Approval of Agenda Mr. Jeremy Hurley moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Danny Fulkerson seconded. A voice vote was as follows: Jeremy Hurley-yes, Danny Fulkerson-yes, Jake Trujillo-yes and the motion to approve the agenda for September 20, 2022 passed 3-0 with vice president Jim Bloodhart being absent. Approval of Minutes Mr. Jeremy Hurley moved to approve the minutes as presented. Mr. Jake Trujillo seconded. A voice vote was as follows: Jeremy Hurley-yes, Jake Trujillo-yes, Danny Fulkerson-yes and the motion to approve the minutes from August 16, 2022 passed 3-0 with vice president Jim Bloodhart being absent. Non-Action Items 4. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel reported 30 services for August, 17 funerals had taken place as of September 20, 2022. Mr. Esquivel presented Matthew Morales as the new cemetery supervisor. 5. Bookkeeper’s Report- Mrs. Diaz reported four lot sales, one contract, and two pay off for August. Public Comments Victoria Arnett gave an update via telephone regarding the Public Burial Babyland Monument. She reported plans had to change and would no longer be doing the angel statues. It would now be a stone with an angel sketched and the benches. The fundraising has already started and is hoping to get started on the project within the next few months.
