Minutes of the Cemetery Board Meeting Tuesday, January 16, 2024 REGULAR MEETING 4:00 P.M Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4, NMSA 1978 and Resolution 23-40. A. Call to Order Vice President, Jim Bloodhart, called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. B. Roll Call Committee members present: Jim Bloodhart, Jeremy Hurley, Danny Fulkerson, and Jake Trujillo. Staff Present: Ruben Esquivel, Cemetery Superintendent, and Daisy Diaz, Cemetery Administrative Assistant. Others Present: Juan Oropesa, Liaison C. Approval of Agenda 1. Mr. Jeremy Hurley moved to approve the agenda as presented. Mr. Danny Fulkerson seconded. A voice vote was as follows: Jim Bloodhart-yes, Jeremy Hurley-yes, Jake Trujillo-yes, Danny Fulkerson-yes and the motion to approve the agenda for January 16, 2024 passed 4-0. D. Approval of Minutes 2. Mr. Jake Trujillo moved to approve the minutes as presented. Mr. Jeremy Hurley seconded. A voice vote was as follows: Jim Bloodhart-yes, Danny Fulkerson-yes, Jeremy Hurley-yes, Jake Trujillo-yes, and the motion to approve the minutes from September 19, 2023 passed 4-0. E. Non-Action Items 3. Sexton’s Report- Superintendent Ruben Esquivel 365 burials for 2023 with 307 burials at South Park Cemetery and 58 at General Douglas McBride Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Esquivel also reported that the annual Christmas clean-up will start February 5, 2024. 4. Bookkeeper’s Report- Mrs. Diaz reported that for the year there was a total of 11 transfers, 69 lot sales, 37 pay-offs, and 18 contracts. 5. Columbarium Update- Mr. Esquivel stated that he had met with the engineers in December and a new proposal will be made up to divide the project into phases and be able to get started with the funds that are currently available. Once proposal is written it will be sent to the finance committee for the approval to get started with the construction. F. Public Comments None G.
