Roswell Commission on Aging Minutes November 16, 2017 Senior Circle 3:00 p.m. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chair Robert McCrea at 3 p.m. Roll Call: Chair Robert McCrea stated that a quorum had been established. Members Present: Marifrank DaHarb Monica Duran Robert McCrea Bonnie Montgomery Renee Swickard Lynne Ybarra Approval of the Agenda: A motion to approve the agenda was made by Renee Swickard; Lynne Ybarra seconded the motion. The Agenda was unanimously approved. Approval of September 28, 2017 minutes: A motion to approve the minutes was made by Lynne Ybarra; Bob McCrea seconded the motion. The minutes were unanimously approved. Navigating Medicare, presentation by Renee Swickard: Informational handouts were given to guests. Mrs. Swickard recommended that those seeking information go to www.Medicare.gov. One can also call 1-800- Medicare. December 7th is the deadline for making any changes to Medicare programs. The deadline for the ACA is December 15. ‘Faces of Fraud’, presentation by Bonnie Montgomery: Reprints from the AARP Bulletin were distributed to guests. Everyone was reminded to avoid suspicious phone calls and other solicitations. Update on purchasing hearing aids: Bonnie Montgomery: It was reported that AARP has announced that pharmacies will soon be able to sell hearing aids at a lower cost. Community comments: There were no comments or inquiries by guests. Commissioner comments: Commissioners had no comments.
