Call To Order Board Chair Matt Pacheco called meeting to order at 12:18 p.m. B. Roll Call The following were present: Members: Matt Pacheco, Donna Daniel, Megan Cederberg. (FOR THE RECORD: Member Jessica Grajeda arrived at 12:22 p.m.) Staff: Kathy Lay Guests: Larry Connolly, Brenda Bonham, Merideth Hildreth, Rita Kane-Doerhoefer C. Approval of Agenda Member Daniel made a motion to approve the agenda for the July 26, 2021, KRB meeting, Member Cederberg was the seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion passed. D. Approval of Minutes Member Cederberg made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 28, 2021 meeting, Member Daniel was the seconded. A voice vote was unanimous and the motion passed. E. Non-Action Items 1. Discussion of tentative date/location for Fall cleanup with the Hispano Chamber. Kathy Lay spoke w/Marcos Nava and she will speak to the Hispano Chamber board on August 12, 2021 regarding partnering w/KRB to do Fall cleanup. Marcos suggested October 16, 2021 10 a.m. be the cleanup date. Location TBD. 2. RDR free filler ad status. Kathy Lay informed the board that graphic designs for eight different filler ads have been sent to Roswell Daily Record to use as free filler ads. Tree in the logo has been updated slightly in the designs. She asked that board members watch for ads so the value can be tracked. Kathy will also ask RDR to notify KRB if ads are placed. 3. Clean and Beautiful Grants status FY21 Grant reports have all been updated as requested by the state and submitted. Final eligible expenses were $18,085.34. OF that, $11,577.50 has already been paid and $6,507.84 remains to be paid for final reimbursement. There was $5,069.66 unspent due to covid related issues preventing some planned activities from happening.  FY22 Grant award letter has been signed by City, is at State for required signatures. $ 28,302.56 was awarded for the following projects. $ 1,250.00 - Illegal Dumping Cameras $ 2,500.00 - Litter Prevention Campaign $ 597.28 - Event Receptacles $ 1,375.67 - Clean-up Activities (supplies as needed-trash bag holders, sm trash cans…) $ 1,200.00 - Reusables (possibly Wheat Tumblers w/KRB logo) $ 300.00 - Recycle Art w/youth project $ 511.54 - Pollinator Garden at Zoo $ 3.748.07 - Arbor Day Giveaway $12,500.00 - Community Mural (enough for one w/remaining funds used on other projects) $ 4,320.00 - Youth Groups (to pay youth groups as fundraisers for group) 4. Recycled Art Project Will be held in partnership with RMAC Second Saturdays on Nov. 13. Kathy will meet w/Jessica Parham to discuss plan and supplies needed. 5. Pecos to Pecos Cleanup event Kathy spoke with Magda from Pecos Watershed Association. KRB will provide a supply pickup location at Spring River Zoo on the day of cleanup (Sept. 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) with roll off as a drop off place for collected litter. Litter can be weighed/tracked and volunteer time tracked as well. 6. Reminder for the need of 5th board member Discussed the need for 5th board member and Brenda Bonham expressed interest. Kathy will mail the board member application for her to complete and return with a letter of interest. F. Information Items 7. Supply order update A large order of clean-up supplies has been delivered and is stored at the city warehouse at 300 E. Walnut. Will discuss the possible need for lightbulb storage from donated LED bulbs from Xcel to be given to volunteers who participate in Fall/Spring cleanup events and possibly given along with trees, for the arbor day tree event. Also discussed checking with Xcel and electrical companies for safe disposal of CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs) G. Public Comments Rita Kane-Doerhoefer stated her happiness to have KRB working on so many projects and that both organizations working cooperatively to beautify this area would help lighten the burden on both. Larry Connolly said he would wait till after meeting to share recent efforts due to the schedule of some board members who needed to leave. H. Pecos-to-Pecos cleanup event for Sept. 25, 2021 was canceled by event organizers. 3. Fall cleanup tentatively Oct. 16, 2021 8:30am-10:30am. Hispano Chamber will sponsor 100 meal coupons for incentives and assist with event. KRB incentive bags selected. 4. Litter Prevention Campaign – waiting on approval of concept idea. 5. Recycled Art Project – met with RMAC staff to discuss possible craft ideas and items KRB needs to purchase. Nancy Fleming will lead the recycle event. 6. Empowering Youth Cleanup Fundraiser project – have documentation completed, in review by legal dept. F. Information Items Discussion only. 7. Question from last meeting – Xcel provided 2 locations for CFL recycling. Home Depot and Roswell Livestock & Supply. 8. Question from last meeting – no KRB is NOT a non-profit. 9.
