APPROVED OCCUPANCY TAX BOARD MEETING July 30, 2013 Tuesday, June 25, 2013 - 2:30 p.m. Conference Room, City Hall Members Present: Acting Chair- Julie Morrow, Dawn Ortega, Josh Ragsdale, Adam Roe Members Absent: Jill Cleveland Staff Present: Janice Self, Barbara Patterson Others Present: None Meeting was called to order at 2:37 pm by Acting Chairperson Julie Morrow. Four of the five members of the board were present representing a quorum. Mr. Roe moved to approve the minutes from the May 28, 2013 Occupancy Tax Board meeting. Mr. Ragsdale seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. There were no requests for funding for the June meeting. 1. Selection of Chairperson for Fiscal Year 2014 - Ms. Ortega nominated Josh Ragsdale as Chairperson. Mr. Ragsdale accepted the nomination. Attending members voted 3-0 in favor of Mr. Ragsdale as Chairperson for Fiscal Year 2014. 2. Allocation of Fiscal Year 2014 budget - Members of the Occupancy Tax Board allocated amounts funding for fiscal year 2014 for events that have been funded in the past. $67,750 of the $75,800 preliminary budget for the fiscal year of 2014 was allocated, leaving $8,050 for new events. Allocation for events was based upon funding and/or requests from past years. The board agreed that the amounts allocated are only a estimated amount and may be increased or decreased as the event presentation warrants and/or the balance of budgeted funds allows. Ms. Ortega made the motion to adjourn and Mr. Roe seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 3:50 p.m. Minutes submitted for approval by Janice Self.
